SOFHA and SONYO Collaborate to Host Youth Training Seminar on Caring for Our Mindsand Promoting Better Health for Young People

SOFHA and SONYO come together to empower youth with essential mental health knowledge
and skills
SOFHA in collaboration with SONYO recently organized a youth training seminar with the
theme “Caring for Our Minds, Shaping Our Futures & Promoting Better Health for Young
People.” The seminar, held at the SONYO offices, brought together young individuals from the
community for an empowering and enlightening experience.
The primary objective of the seminar was to raise awareness about the importance of mental
health among young people and equip them with the tools and knowledge to promote better
overall health and well-being. Over the course of the day, participants engaged in interactive
sessions, discussions, and practical exercises designed to enhance their understanding of
mental health issues, coping strategies, and the importance of self-care.
The seminar featured a distinguished lineup of experienced speakers and medical professionals
in mental health who have made a positive impact on mental health advocacy. These experts
shared their insights, and personal stories, and provided guidance for navigating the challenges
young people often face in their journey towards better mental health. Additionally, breakout
sessions and group activities fostered a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging
participants to engage in open discussions and share their own perspectives.
The collaboration between SOFHA and SONYO not only strengthened the impact of the
seminar but also facilitated networking opportunities among youth participants. This
collaborative effort aimed to create a ripple effect of positivity and mental health awareness,
enabling young individuals to become ambassadors for their peers and communities.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to attend such a seminar and gain
valuable knowledge and skills. They were especially grateful for the blood type test offered by
the Doctors from SOFHA’s mobile clinic team. A young attendee, highlighted the impact of the
event, saying, “This seminar has helped me understand the importance of taking care of my
mental and physical health and has given me practical tools to cope with stress and challenges.
I feel motivated to spread this knowledge and help create a healthier environment for young
people around me.”
SOFHA and SONYO remain committed to empowering young individuals and promoting mental
health awareness. The success of the youth training seminar reinforces their dedication to
providing accessible resources and support for the well-being of young people.
